Monitor emerging legal trends and regulatory developments and communicate actionable implications to stakeholders. Education Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB). Member in good standing with a Canadian provincial law society. Privacy-specific certification considered an asset: Qualifications: 5+ years of legal experience , including significant experience advising on privacy law and regulatory compliance matters. Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying Canadian privacy legislation including: Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts involving personal information and data-sharing arrangements. Experience advising on privacy incidents, breach response, investigations, and regulatory reporting obligations. Experience partnering with Compliance, Risk, Privacy, Information Security, and business stakeholders. Bonus Qualifications: Experience within the insurance, financial services, or highly regulated industries. Experience supporting AI governance, data governance, and emerging technology reviews. Familiarity with OSFI, FCAC, AMF, FSRA, and other Canadian regulatory expectations. Experience supporting Privacy Impact Assessments, AI Risk Assessments, and enterprise governance programs. Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of Canadian privacy and data protection laws. Strong legal research, analysis, and risk assessment capabilities. Ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical business solutions. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. Sound judgment and demonstrated ability to provide practical, risk-based legal advice.
